John Cena got what he wanted and then some when The Undertaker returned to WrestleMania 34 and squashed the 16-time World Champion. Former WWE wrestler Sean “X-Pac” Waltman was backstage at WrestleMania 34 and spoke to The Undertaker afterward to get his thoughts on the match.
Waltman said on his podcast, “So I talked to Taker {Undertaker} afterward and I said, ‘Taker I knew you weren’t done last year. I just knew it.’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I should’ve sucked up my pride and had the work done, you know?’
“On his hip. That he’s had done since then because he moved around pretty damn good in there. So I was telling him, ‘Mark {Undertaker} if you wanted to hang it up on this one it’s not a bad one to do it but I don’t think it’s going to happen.’ But I think he is good to go.”
Here are more highlights from X-Pac 12360, which has Waltman recapping WrestleMania Weekend:
Shayna Baszler:
“My personal favorite was Shayna Baszler winning the NXT Women’s Title, it was a wonderfully told story and excellent wrestling match and I am a huge fan of her’s {Shayna Baszler}, I think she’s fantastic, she knows how to be a villain, the authenticity, you know she can hurt somebody.”
NXT TakeOver and and what NXT wrestlers can work on:
“The one thing I think that a lot of the guys or just about everyone could improve on are… there are a lot of missed opportunities out there… As far as when to fire up and keep the people in the match cause as great as the matches were you could hear the crowd die out in-between stuff a lot of the times. There’s also a thing about hearing the people when you’re in there and a lot of talent just can’t hear them in there, they can’t hear whether the people are making noise or not, they’re just doing their thing. It just comes with time and being told to actually take the time and listen and just that that’s even a thing.”
Waltman says it should be Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte at WrestleMania 35:
“They need to get that belt back on Charlotte, in my opinion, this is what I would do. I would have Ronda {Rousey} vs. Charlotte at next year’s Wrestlemania and maybe even the main event.”
The Bar losing to a 10-year-old at WrestleMania:
“I enjoyed it… To me, that was as good a partner for him as anyone available. There are people that a lot of us thought of. Oh who’s his partner going to be? Maybe it’s going to Hogan? Maybe it’s going to be this guy but in the absence of any of those choices. I thought that was a great choice. I mean because if they use someone that is already on the roster, whoop-de-doo. I want to take my hat off for Sheamus and Cesaro for going out there and being pro’s about that because looking at it from their perspective that wasn’t an ideal situation for them. Cause they’ve worked hard and they’ve been a great team. I like everything they’re doing. I love their entrance, but they had to suck it up on this one.”
