Rumors of WWE introducing a Women’s Tag Team Championship have been swirling for months but nobody has confirmed anything until now.
According to a report this morning by WrestlingNews.co, they received confirmation from WWE sources over the weekend that WWE plans to introduce a Women’s Tag Team Championship.
A tournament involving female Superstars from Raw, SmackDown LIVE and NXT will take place on WWE programming, with the finals to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions set for WWE Evolution on October 29.
According to the report, an announcement on this should be “coming soon.”
On Sunday, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige sent out a cryptic tweet on “making some real changes.” If you take a look at the replies, a lot of fans thinks she’s planning to introduce a Women’s Tag Team Championship.
