WWE informed two NXT performers of their release Friday at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida: interviewer Devin Taylor and wrestler Cal Bishop.
Taylor, who has been a staple of NXT since late 2013, is the name that most will recognize. Initially criticized for her wooden delivery, Taylor was showing some signs of progress . . . especially as a foil for Dana Brooke. She wrestled occasionally at non-televised events, as well, but was moved out of a crowded announcer scene with the rise of Kyle Edwards and Dasha Fuentes.
Bishop had been with WWE for a couple of years and worked as tag team enhancement talent on a couple of episodes of NXT.
Both were present at Thursday night’s NXT taping, although its not clear that either were used and unlikely that they’d be featured in any prominent way.
