British pop star George Michael has died, according to Britain’s Press Association news agency. The musician, who shot to fame with the 1980s duo Wham!, was 53-years-old.
About an hour before news of Michaels’ death broke, WWE referee Charles Robinson gleefully tweeted this photo of a Michael shirt he got for Christmas.

Robinson mentions being a fan of Michael in his Twitter bio, which reads: “Follower of Jesus Christ, WWE SmackDown OFFICIAL, movie poster collector, George Michael fan & enjoys spending time w/ daughter. enjoy doing OCR races.”
A rep for the pop star told TMZ, “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.”
Details surrounding Michael’s death have not been released.
Police say there’s nothing suspicious about the death, according to the BBC.
Michael is considered a music legend — he sold more than 100 million albums during his career.
