WWE Introducing A New Championship After WrestleMania 34

According to a report by PWInsider.com on Monday, WWE will be instituting a new championship after Wrestlemania 34 takes place on Sunday, April 8.

While Wrestlemania 34 will feature the tournament final crowning a new WWE Cruiserweight Champion, plans are in the works to create a WWE Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship for the 205 Live brand.

There is no word yet on the timetable as to when the belts will be rolled out, but several championship designs have been worked on internally and WWE recently finalized plans for the look of the championships.

Theis would give WWE a third set of Tag Team Champions and bring forth the first Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship in a major U.S. promotion since the demise of WCW in 2001. The WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship was a short-lived title created in 2001 just prior to WCW being sold to the World Wrestling Federation.
