Tonight’s WWE Cruiserweight Classic quarterfinals kicked off with Gran Metalik defeating Akira Towawa, and Kota Ibushi going over Brian Kendrick.
Metalik is now set to face the winner of ZSJ versus Noam Dar, whereas Ibushi will wrestle the winner of Rich Swann versus TJ Perkins.
The CWC finale airs live on Wednesday, September 14th from Full Sail University with Metalik vs. ZSJ or Dar and Ibushi vs. Swann or TJP, plus the finals.
The video below features Ibushi with WWE trainers following his matchup:
This video features Andrea D’Marco talking to Kendrick after the loss. CWC commentator and good friend Daniel Bryan approaches and they embrace. Bryan talks about meeting Kendrick at Shawn Michaels’ wrestling school and gets emotional when giving Kendrick credit for the wrestler he became. Bryan says he doesn’t care if Kendrick lost, Kendrick was the best. Kendrick hopes Ibushi wins the whole thing because with Bryan retired, he believes Ibushi is the best wrestler in the world.
