The loose feel of Ric Flair’s podcast is part of what makes it so popular. This week, the WWE Hall of Famer was joined by former WCW head honcho Eric Bischoff, and the resultant conversation was extremely intriguing. Throughout, both men discussed at length various rumours about the company, as well as Bischoff’s various roles within it.
Interestingly, several things were brought to light that Bischoff said he wasn’t even aware of. According to Flair, Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash own over 50% of the merchandising rights for products bearing the nWo logo. Of course, the New World Order faction was Bischoff’s brain child, but he doesn’t see a penny from the faction nowadays.
In July, Hogan was fired from and blacklisted by WWE, coinciding with media scrutiny of scandalous remarks he made in 2007. This led WWE to remove all Hogan merchandise off WWEShop.com, as well as nWo merchandise. According to Flair, Nash, who owns 34% of the merchandising rights (Hall owned a percentage but Nash bought out his share), was infuriated with the company’s decision to pull nWo products. He flew to WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut and an agreement was made to put the nWo merchandise back in stock.
