Why WWE Canceled Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James Singles Bouts, How Old Is Bray Wyatt?, Godfather

– Ronda Rousey was advertised to face Mickie James in singles matches on last week’s WWE live event tour of Europe, but she instead worked Six-Woman Tag Team Matches on four consecutive nights.

On May 16, 17, 18 and 19, Rousey teamed with Natalya and Ember Moon against James, Ruby Riott, and Liv Morgan. The result was the same on all four nights as Rousey, Natalya, and Moon came out on top.

Dave Meltzer noted over the weekend on Wrestling Observer Radio that the matches were changed because WWE higher-ups and producers don’t feel that Rousey is ready to work singles matches yet, even against a talented veteran in Mickie.

Rousey is slated to make her singles match debut on June 17 at WWE Money in the Bank when she challenges Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship.

– Bray Wyatt celebrated his birthday on Wednesday as one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions turned 31 years old.

Real name Windham Lawrence Rotunda, the WWE Superstar was born in Brooksville, Florida.

– Coming next month to the WWE Network is a video playlist highlighting The Godfather’s Hall of Fame worthy career.

This WWE Network collection has been in the works for about a year as WWE promoted a collection on The Godfather as “coming soon” last June.

It will be interesting to see whether WWE showcases his entire career and not just him as The Godfather. The man behind The Godfather, Charles Wright, used multiple gimmicks in WWE, including Papa Shango and Kama Mustafa. With WWE’s massive video library and Wright being open about his past, those characters can definitely be highlighted in a WWE Network collection.
