Sasha Banks made a statement in the Last Chance Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Gauntlet Match on Raw, outlasting six other WWE Superstars — Ruby Riott, Mickie James, Bayley, Dana Brooke, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan — to secure the final spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Heading into Monday, WWE scripted Riott to win the Last Chance Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Gauntlet Match. However, just before Raw went on the air, WWE changed the scheduled winner to Banks.
An apparent factor in the change has to do with Banks’ contractual status. It was reported the week before that Banks recently signed a new contract to remain with WWE. We now know that she only agreed to a new contract, but did not actually sign it until Monday. After Banks signed the contract extension, WWE made the decision for her to win on Raw.
Had Banks not won the Last Chance Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Gauntlet Match, she would have teamed with Bayley against Morgan and Logan on the Money in the Bank Kickoff show. That match has now been canceled.
