Renee Young says the man known for yelling in the ears of his announcers only spoke to her once during her history-making night at the Raw announce booth.
Young spoke to WWE about being the first female to announce a Raw broadcast and what Vince McMahon told her over her headset during the broadcast.
“He only spoke to me once, just once,” Young said. “I mean, I’m sure he was kind of letting me get away with a few things tonight. Yeah, he told me to slow down on a couple spots but that was it. And, geez, if that’s the only note that I get from him tonight, hallelujah, I’ll take it.”
Young said she felt good about her performance noting most of what she said was her genuine reaction. She added Michael Cole gave her high praise after the show was over.
Naturally, there was little doubt about her favorite moment of the evening.
“The fact that I announced Monday Night Raw tonight and it was the return of my husband [Dean Ambrose] who has not been in the ring for nine months, seeing his recovery and all of the obstacles he had to go through to get back to being in the right … I had goosebumps the entire time. It was so exciting.”
Young also took to Instagram following Raw to thank everyone for their support.
