Above is video from this week’s “Off The Top Rope” segment on ESPN Sportscenter with Jonathan Coachman looking back at this week’s RAW and SmackDown.
In the videos below, Coach is joined by RAW Superstar Bayley.
Bayley says the best thing about her first few weeks on RAW has been everything. She grew up idolizing Mick Foley and for him to introduce her on RAW was incredible. She also talks about how she wore wrestling t-shirts in high school but her basketball coach wouldn’t let her on the bus to travel to away games with those shirts on because the coach felt Bayley needed to look more professional. Coach asks what she thinks her role is. Bayley says the women have huge roles in WWE now, pointing out how they have two women’s titles because there’s so much talent in WWE. She feels a little bit of good pressure because she wants people to buy tickets to see the women’s matches.
Coach asks if it was frustrating or motivating to see Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch go to the main roster before her. Bayley says it was a little bit of both. When she first saw them on RAW, she felt so proud and felt like she played a small part in them getting that far. It was a little hard to watch them debut from her couch but she supported them and was thrilled to see them at WrestleMania 32. Regarding her chemistry with Sasha, Bayley says they kind of had chemistry right off the bat. She recalls a practice match she had to do in her first week at WWE NXT, noting that they just clicked. They both have the same goal – to take women’s wrestling to new heights, so they always want to have the best match on the show and be the best women’s wrestlers. They always feel the need to one-up each other.
