– Dean Ambrose could be back any week now, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“While nobody has directly said this to us, it does appear they are setting up Rollins needing a partner to go against Ziggler and McIntyre,” Meltzer added.
This news comes after a report from PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson on Monday, who said that Ambrose is expected to return to action within the next month.
Johnson was told by one source that Ambrose is slated to be at SummerSlam and should return to WWE storylines somewhere around that timeframe. Whether he appears at the pay-per-view event itself remains to be seen. A second source confirms Ambrose is expected back shortly.
When WWE fans last saw Ambrose, he was getting his arm busted up by The Bar, resulting in him being written off television due to the triceps tendon injury. The Raw Superstar has been out of action since undergoing surgery on December 18, 2017. WWE said that Ambrose would be out of action for nine months. This month makes eight months into that process.
Since then, Ambrose has been spotted regularly in Birmingham, Alabama rehabbing the injury. He was also at the WWE Performance Center in June in advance of his return.
