– There was a lot of speculation after Big Show’s Royal Rumble announcement on last night’s WWE RAW, over whether or not he would start the match as #1 or not.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that a WWE creative source told him overnight that Big Show would indeed be #1 in the 30-man Royal Rumble main event. However, WWE then confirmed to Alvarez this afternoon that Big Show will not get the #1 spot that night.
Furthermore, WWE posted this teaser on this website and it does not indicate Show will be starting the match:
The Superstars who draw Nos. 1 and 2 begin the bout, and a new Superstar joins the fray every 90 seconds until all 30 Superstars have entered the ring. The only way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope and to the outside, with both feet touching the floor.
The last man standing will not only be the 2016 Royal Rumble Match winner, but also the No. 1 Contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania.
Big Show became the first Superstar to declare his participation, officially entering himself in the Royal Rumble Match on the Dec. 28 edition of Raw. What other competitors will join The World’s Largest Athlete?
