Last Thursday, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE is currently planning to have The Undertaker return for another match, which would take place at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His opponent would be John Cena.
This would seem to run contrary to the idea of The Undertaker losing to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 33. After that defeat, he symbolically left his gear in the middle of the ring. WWE, however, never used the term “retirement” in the wake of it, however, and they are doing very little to refute the aforementioned reports.
In an interview with the New York Post discussing Raw 25, Triple H offered his thoughts on The Undertaker retiring.
“I understand why people can’t let go of it,” he said of the character. “It’s a hard thing to say that that would be the end. What he has left? I don’t know. We’ll have to ask him. That’s the beauty of WWE. Wait and see.”
“The Phenom” will return to television at Raw 25 on Jan. 22. Cena is also scheduled for that show.
