– We noted before that Mustafa Ali may have suffered a neck injury in his match against Lince Dorado at last night’s WWE Cruiserweight Classic tapings. Another injury may have happened during the Tony Nese vs. Anthony Bennett match, set to air on July 27th. The finish saw the referee stop Nese from doing a move, only to check on Bennett’s knee, then give the OK to Nese to finish the sequence. Trainers checked on Bennett after the match and he was helped to the back.
– Speaking of Ali, he was a late addition to the tournament. We noted before that the 205 pound weight limit was legitimate and that WWE brought extras to Orlando in case others weren’t able to make weight. Ali was one of those extras as Zumbi did not make weight. There were rumors that Zumbi was given two extra hours to make weight but those reports are incorrect.
– Triple H tweeted the following after last night’s tapings, saying WWE launched a new brand with the CWC:
Today, I saw talent seize opportunity, knock down doors, and exceed expectations in and out of the ring.
Today, we launched a brand. #CWC— Triple H (@TripleH) June 24, 2016
