We reported yesterday that an inside source within TNA told us that several talents have had their flights to Orlando cancelled this weekend, and received little-to-no explanation as to why. Since our initial report, PWInsider has come out saying that that plane tickets have not been cancelled, however several other wrestling news outlets are reporting the same via their own sources. In checking back with our original source, it seems television regulars who wouldn’t necessarily be on Bound for Glory have been told to remain on stand-by until further notice. Many within the company are saying that if next week’s TV tapings do in fact occur, the company might be using more Florida-based talents instead of flying people in and lodging them in Orlando.
We should have more by the end of business on Friday. As previously noted, if TNA doesn’t secure funding by the end of Friday, the company could finally be at an end.
In regard to the flight cancellations, Justin LaBar of TribLive.com tweeted the following:
Sadly, TNA has cancelled some wrestlers flights &matches to cut costs. The site saying it’s false is spin doctoring PR for TNA mgmt sources.
