Tammy “Sunny” Sytch has been ordered to trial on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and careless driving.
On May 30, Sytch was pulled over by a patrol car in a Palmerton, PA Wal-Mart parking lot at 1:32 AM after entering the “exit for the store and hitting a curb.” Sytch failed field sobriety testing at the scene and a blood test later showed a blood alcohol content of .253 percent. That would be three times the legal driving limit.
Sytch failed to appear at two previous hearings regarding the case on July 29 and Aug. 21. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 3, but apparently did not appear again as a bench warrant has been issued for her arrest.
On Sept. 1, two days before the bench warrant was issued, Sytch commented on her DUI arrest on her Facebook page while in the midst of a rant about negative attention she has received, writing, “Hey, yeah I do skypes.. Yeah Ive had a couple DUI’s. Yeah I spent some time in rehab and in prison…. SO F**KING WHAT. You all have never done ANYTHING wrong? I’ve made mistakes just like every one else. You move on. I LOVE WHO I AM…. and that’s all that matters. I’d rather have done the things I’ve done, than lived a boring uneventful life! Am I ashamed of any of it???? HELL NO!! It’s not like I’ve ever tried to kill anyone…. but hey, there’s still time , right??? hahahahahaha”
There will be a pre-trial conference on Dec. 1 at 9 AM in Carbon County, PA to review the status of the case with the prosecution and the defense. If Sytch and the prosecution do not come to some sort of plea deal before or at the Dec. 1 hearing, Sytch will be ordered to stand trial before a jury on Dec. 7, which is her 43rd birthday.
It should be noted that this trial would only cover the first of three DUI arrests for Sytch over the course of this past summer. Sytch was also arrested on June 1 in Towamensing Township and then again on June 20 in Towamensing after she crashed her car.
