– In the video above, TMZ Sports catches up with WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin, and brings up Daniel Bryan’s retirement and history of concussions. Austin says he’s not a doctor but he doesn’t think CTE will become a problem in pro wrestling. He commented:
“I just think Daniel Bryan worked a very physical cruiserweight style and finally, after everything he did, it kinda took it out of him. I don’t think it’s going to be an epidemic.”
“Over the past 20 years, there’s only been a couple guys that had to bow out with concussions. Daniel worked his ass off and he was a hard worker, and his style finally caught up with him. It is what it is but I don’t think it’s an epidemic.”
When asked if Bryan’s style of wrestling might be phased out, Austin mentioned the missile dropkicks he always did but ended by saying he respects Bryan and wishes the best for him, calling him an awesome talent.
