– We’ve noted how WWE got former UFC fighter Matt Riddle a job with WWN’s EVOLVE promotion. Riddle was at the NWA Legends fanfest camp in Charlotte this past August and WWE’s Gerald Brisco was telling people there that WWE was planning on signing him.
There’s speculation that Riddle’s run with EVOLVE could be somewhat of a test for a future WWE run. WWE officials are aware of Riddle getting cut by UFC after failing two pre-fight marijuana tests, plus how he was badmouthed by UFC’s Dana White and Bellator’s Bjorn Rebney, and they may want to see how he can handle the pressures of pro wrestling before committing to him.
– It’s interesting that WWE is partnering with the Texas Lottery for a WrestleMania 32 promotion with John Cena, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Paige and The Bella Twins featured as they didn’t want Ric Flair associated with a lottery. A few years back when Flair was working with the North Carolina lottery, WWE told Flair they couldn’t sign him to a deal if he continued that gig because they didn’t consider lotteries to be family-friendly.
