Shawn Michaels Says Vince McMahon Asked Him To Compete At WrestleMania 33

According to Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon wanted him to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 33.

HBK discusses the situation on tonight’s episode of Table For 3, which airs on the WWE Network following Raw.

Speaking with Styles and Kevin Nash, the WWE Hall of Famer said that people have come up to him in the past about potential matches but that he hadn’t been formally pitched an idea for a match until this year when McMahon approached him.

Michaels explains, “Different writers, or this person, or producer, whatever, have asked. But for the first year ever, it was the first time Vince asked.”

He went on to say his recent stint working at the WWE Performance Center had apparently led some to believe he wanted to wrestle again.
