Seth Rollins’ historic 2015 campaign has landed him the No. 1 spot on Pro Wrestling Illustrated‘s 25th annual “PWI 500.”
“Thanks @OfficialPWI for the number 1 spot,” Rollins tweeted Thursday. “But let’s be honest here…was there really ever a second option? Mwuhahahaha!!”
Rollins joins an elite group of wrestlers who have topped the “PWI 500” since it debuted in 1991, including Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and last year’s top-ranked wrestler, Daniel Bryan.
Here’s a look at who cracked the top 10 for 2015:
2. Seth Rollins (No. 12 in 2014)
3. John Cena (No. 3 in 2014, 12th year in a row he’s been named one of the 10 best in the world)
4. AJ Styles (No. 4 in 2014)
5. Roman Reigns (No. 7 in 2014)
6. Shinsuke Nakamura (No. 17 in 2014)
7. Randy Orton (No. 2 in 2014)
8. Jay Briscoe (No. 38 in 2014)
9. Rusev (No. 65 in 2014)
10. Alberto El Patron (No. 22 in 2014)
11. Kevin Owens (No. 27 in 2014)
The “PWI 500” is compiled each year using criteria that includes win-loss record, championships won, quality of competition, major feuds, prominence within their individual promotion(s), and overall wrestling ability. The evaluation period was from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
