In a chaotic prelude to the first-ever Seven-Man Elimination Chamber Match this Sunday, the seven competitors lined up, one after another, for a Gauntlet Match on Raw, and Braun Strowman emerged as the last man standing after what seemed, at first glance, to be the longest match in WWE history.
According to a report today by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the person responsible for the match was Vince McMahon.
Johnson was told that McMahon suggested the Gauntlet Match “out of nowhere” during a creative meeting. His suggestion came as a surprise since he is traditionally not very high on such matches, Johnson was told.
From there, the match was laid out and McMahon approved the length and presentation of the Gauntlet Match.
