– Sami Zayn talked a big game, but Bobby Lashley shut him up in a hurry at WWE Money in the Bank.
After pulverizing Zayn with a clothesline, shoulder tackle into the corner and a big Spinebuster, the former ECW Champion executed not one, not two, but three stalling suplexes, each punctuated with a backbreaker. All of which left Sami so beaten down that Lashley pinned him by simply placing a hand on his chest.
There is a reason for Zayn getting wiped out in such a one-sided fashion at Money in the Bank.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has confirmed with multiple sources in WWE that Zayn had been working through an injury and his match with Lashley was his last before he took time off to address it.
Zayn was not backstage at last night’s Raw in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is scheduled to travel to Birmingham, Alabama this week to be examined (Johnson has not been able to confirm the nature of his injury).
According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, sources in WWE says Zayn has actually been dealing with multiple injuries. The injuries are to his knee and shoulder, and their severity is unknown at this time.
