Paige Proposes To Alberto Del Rio In The Ring

Paige gave wrestling fans all around the globe a huge surprise on October 16, 2016 when she dropped down to one knee inside the squared circle and asked Alberto Del Rio for his hand in marriage. This took place moments after the former WWE Superstar’s match against Carlito at World Wrestling Council’s WWC Aniversario show in Bayamón, Puerto Rico at Palacio de Recreación y Deportes in Mayaguez.

As seen in footage captured by fans, Paige is dressed casually in jeans and a tank top as she catches her now-fiancé completely off-guard with the proposal. Del Rio then walks around the ring in shock while she waits for his answer.

He eventually accepts and seals the deal with a sweet, sweet kiss!

An ecstatic Paige spoke on camera afterward and said she felt good about popping the question — mainly because it would have been embarrassing if he had said “no” in front of a bunch of people.

She then commemorated the momentous occasion with a heartfelt post on Instagram dedicated to her future husband.

Paige’s father, Ricky Knight, does not approve of his daughter marrying Del Rio. The day after the proposal, he wrote on his personal Facebook account, “Putting this [sic] out there then saying no more,about it to anyone I am totally against my daughter marrying that man statement over.”

Knight removed the post shortly thereafter, but not before Paige’s brother commented, “Hope you’re [sic] ok dad,,silly girl,,the truth will come out stay strong bud,hate seeing my family hurt.”

In yet another shocking twist to this love story, it was sensationally claimed that Del Rio is still legally married.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to Raymond Rafool, a lawyer representing Del Rio’s wife Angela Velkei, to ask if their divorce had been finalized yet.

“No. They are far from it at this stage,” Rafool said in a statement. “Of course, Paige should watch carefully how Alberto is denying and treating his current wife and the mother of his children in this divorce. History repeats itself.”
