New Details on The Rock Starring In Baywatch

– As noted, The Rock will be starring in an adult Rated R comedy movie about hit TV show Baywatch. The Hollywood Reporter reports that actor Zac Efron has signed on to star alongside The Rock.

The Hollywood Reporter also notes that production will likely begin in February 2016. The movie will focus on a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard, The Rock, who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead, Efron, in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.

It was noted that a Baywatch franchise could develop for Rock and Efron if everything goes right when the movie is released in 2017.
