Marina Shafir has officially joined Four Horsewomen teammates Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in making the move from mixed martial arts to professional wrestling.
Shafir wrestled her first-ever match at tonight’s NXT live event in Largo, Florida. Working as a babyface, she teamed with Nikki Cross against Aliyah and Rhea Ripley (with Reina Gonzalez at ringside in support of the heels and Xia Li supporting the babyfaces).
Shafir picked up the win for her team after forcing Aliyah to tap out. Shafir and Cross were then joined by Xia Li in the ring and they all celebrated.
WWE posted this video highlighting Shafir’s NXT live event debut.
On WWE.com, she is being billed as “Supernova From Moldova” Marina Shafir. Here are additional highlights from her debut.

Here are additional notes on Shafir’s debut from a reddit user who attended the show:
Shafir worked as a face alongside Nikki Cross against Alyiah and Rhea Ripley w/Reina Gonzalez. Professional Camerman was on hand specifically for this match filming Shafir. Most likely for a future special or video package. In ring style consists of the same moves as Ronda Rousey, the Judo toss, fireman’s carry, and armbar submission being the major maneuvers. Very we’ll protected throughout the match and only lost control when outside interference from Reina Gonzalez occurred. Shafir won the match with a beautiful package slam on Aliyah followed by a side choke for a quick tap. After the match Shafir threw up the “four” symbol and received a good crowd reaction. When exciting Shafir took her son from the crowd and was filmed walking to the back with him.
On Tuesday, Shafir and Four Horsewomen teammate Jessamyn Duke both announced on Twitter that they would be making their respective in-ring debuts at tonight’s show in Largo. Only Shafir made her in-ring debut since Duke did not wrestle on tonight’s show. Her tweet announcing that she would wrestle tonight has also been deleted.

Shafir and Duke both signed with WWE back in May and have been training at the WWE Performance Center.
Shafir, who is engaged to NXT Tag Team Champion Roderick Strong, has a mixed martial arts background. She has a 1-3 record, having fought for Invicta Fighting Championships and Lights Out Promotions. She had her last fight in July 2015.
Shafir has appeared for WWE before, including the Mae Young Classic last year where she showed support to Baszler, and along with Rousey had a face-to-face confrontation with several members of WWE’s Four Horsewomen.
