Weeks after Stephanie McMahon broke the news about the women of WWE getting a Royal Rumble Match to call their own, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle clarified the rules in the opening minutes of last night’s special New Year’s Day edition of Raw.
Angle said that management of both Raw and SmackDown LIVE have agreed that the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match on Sunday, Jan. 28 would be contested under the exact same rules as the longstanding Men’s match.
That means 30 entrants, eliminations occur when Superstars go over the top rope and both feet touch the floor, and the winner gets a championship match at WrestleMania.
It's truly a #RumbleForAll at this year's @WWE #RoyalRumble for both the men AND women…

Last night on Raw, Absolution’s Paige, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose, as well as Sasha Banks and Bayley, all announced their intention to compete in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. They join already-declared former SmackDown Women’s Champions Naomi and Natalya, Asuka, and Ruby Riott.
