One classic rivalry has already been renewed for WWE Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia. Now, it has been confirmed that the Melbourne Cricket Ground will play host to another.
WWE announced today that John Cena and Kevin Owens will clash at the historic event on Saturday, October 6, marking the first time the two have battled one-on-one since their three-match series in 2015.

Owens, then the NXT Champion, made his mark at WWE Elimination Chamber on May 31, 2015, by defeating then-United States Champion Cena in a Champion vs. Champion Match that was named one of WWE.com’s favorite matches of the year. Cena evened the score in the second contest on June 14, 2015, at WWE Money in the Bank and ended up taking the rubber match the following month at WWE Battleground, in which “The Cenation Leader”’s United States Championship was at stake.
Cena and Owens join an event that has already includes The Undertaker battling Triple H for the very last time. Tickets for WWE Super Show-Down are available now via ticketek.com.au. The event will stream live on the WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view around the world.
Cena hasn’t wrestled since April 27 at the Greatest Royal Rumble, but he’s scheduled for WWE’s house show in Shanghai, China on September 1. Cena said earlier this week that he’ll debut his “6th Move of Doom” in Shangai.
