Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross has been hospitalized for a possible rib injury after taking a spill on Saturday night during New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Special in San Francisco at the Cow Palace in the San Francisco suburb of Daly City, California.
During the event, which was broadcast on AXS TV in the United States, New Zealand wrestler Jay White tossed Juice Robinson into the steel barricade in front of Ross and announcer Josh Barnett as they called the show. When Robinson hit the barricade, the impact knocked Ross off his chair. However, what caused the injury is a monitor falling on him.
Many fans questioned whether the injury is legitimate or part of the show, especially since Barnett went after White in the ring. Ross, however, says the bump had nothing to do with a storyline.
For the record, the ‘bump’ I took at ringside at #G1SanFrancisco was not storyline driven matter nor was it discussed.
I think I broke a rib.
