Tonight’s Royal Rumble will undoubtedly have a different feel to it as it will not include the voice of Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Lawler confirmed on Twitter on Saturday appear that he will appear on the Royal Rumble Kickoff (airing at 7 ET/4 PT on WWE Network, WWE.com, the WWE App and other platforms), but not the event itself.
A fan asked Lawler on Twitter, “Are you going to be calling the action this weekend @WWE Royal Rumble?” He responded, “No…I’ll be doing the pre show and Royal Rumble panel.”

Lawler then retweeted followers voicing their displeasure over this.
The commentary team for tonight’s Royal Rumble will be comprised of Michael Cole, JBL and Byron Saxton. SmackDown lead announcer Mauro Ranallo mentioned on Twitter on Friday that he will not be at the commentary table for tonight’s show, but would be “#commentweeting.”
