HBO Releases First Trailer For Andre the Giant Documentary

Andre the Giant‘s larger than life story will be told in a new documentary produced by Bill Simmons and HBO, who released the movie’s first trailer on Friday.

The flick is called He Was A God and the 30-second teaser features a voiceover saying, “He was at once a real human but at the same a mythological figure.”

The documentary was announced back in February with Simmons attached as an executive producer on the project — WWE is involved as well — and will be utilizing “never-before-seen footage.”

“For more than 20 years, Andre the Giant’s larger than life personality and unique charisma captured the imagination of fans around the world,” WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said. “I will always value our friendship, and am proud to tell the story of the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World.’”

He Was A God premieres next spring.
