Former X-Division champion Low Ki is gone from Global Force Wrestling.
According to PWInsider.com, he parted ways with the company over the course of this week’s television tapings in Orlando, Florida.
There are several different accounts going around on what led to his departure. One story is that there it was a financial dispute that led to him leaving. Another story says that Low Ki was not happy with GFW’s creative plans heading into Bound For Glory. The company had plans for him to compete in the Ultimate X Match while he wanted to be more involved in the mix for the GWF World Heavyweight Championship.
The one thing all accounts are in agreement with is that Ki made the decision to leave the company. He was not let go. A GFW source stated the departure was “amicable.”
Ki was scheduled to face Alberto El Patron at last Thursday’s Destination X-theme episode of Impact Wrestling, but the match was canceled due to Patron’s suspension leading to him being stripped of the GWF World Heavyweight Championship. Ki will appear in a Gauntlet match that headlines tomorrow’s episode of Impact that will crown the new GWF World Heavyweight Champion.
Low Ki, 37, was the first Ring of Honor Champion and has had numerous runs with TNA/GFW over the years as well as runs with WWE and New Japan Pro Wrestling, among others.
