WWE is in talks with a former wrestler who considers herself retired to participate in the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament.
Sources tell Pro Wrestling Sheet that WWE has been talking to Serena Deeb about coming out of retirement to compete in this summer’s Mae Young Classic tournament — however, it’s not a done deal quite yet.
Deeb wrestled in Ohio Valley Wrestling from 2005 through 2009 and won their Women’s Championship six times. She was more famously known, however, for being part of the Straight Edge Society on SmackDown in 2010 — a group that also featured CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Joey Mercury.
Serena spent less than a year with the group and only wrestled once on television before being released in August 2010. She retired from the ring a few years later in 2015.
Here is a video of Deeb’s one and only televised WWE match, where she partnered with Luke Gallows against the team of Kelly Kelly and Big Show.
