A new World Champion was crowned at Wednesday’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida.
Austin Aries returned to Impact Wrestling and defeated Eli Drake to capture the Impact Global Championship. The match is expected to air sometime in February.
It was set up when Drake and Chris Adonis did an interview where Adonis was putting over Drake as the greatest champion of all-time, the greatest dresser of all-time, the greatest friend of all-time, and Drake during his promo claimed he was the greatest man who ever lived.
This brought out Aries, who ran down his credentials and noted he was a former World Champion for this company. It wound up in a match with Aries winning the title. He previously held the TNA World title for three months in 2012.
