Fans of Total Divas were initially introduced to Eva Marie’s husband Jonathan Coyle in the first season of the hit E! reality show when he proposed to the WWE Diva after only a few months of dating. The couple quickly eloped and kept their marriage a secret until the flame-haired beauty confessed her decision to her folks. They were not happy.
Coyle, a major figure in the fitness industry, first met his future wife when she joined him for a workout at the gym.
“I was doing muscle ups with some buddies at the gym when she walked in … I heard someone say my name and I turned around and saw her for the first time. It was like I walked into a dream, I had never seen anything so beautiful,” Coyle said in an interview with Divas365.com. “Love at first sight is the cheesiest thing I’ve ever heard, until it happens to you. I used to make fun of lame concepts like that until I met Eva. I must have had the dumbest expression on my face because Eva still makes fun of me about it and the fact that I couldn’t form a complete sentence and was stumbling over my words. It got even ‘worse’ for me because not only was she gorgeous, she totally killed her workout!”
Since their first meeting, the two have been inseparable. The couple got married on August 23, 2014, with the wedding airing on an October 2014 episode Total Divas. Here are some things you may not know about Jonathan Coyle.
