Vickie Guerrero, the widow of Eddie Guerrero, is one of many former and current WWE superstars to honor her late husband on what would have been his 50th birthday today.

On November 13, 2005, Guerrero was found unconscious in his hotel room at The Marriott City Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by his nephew, Chavo, who attempted CPR. However, Guerrero was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived at the scene. He was 38 years old. An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of acute heart failure due to underlying atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
During his 18 year career, Eddie wrestled for AAA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, ECW, WCW, and WWE. He climbed to main event status and won the WWE Championship in February 2004 at No Way Out by beating Brock Lesnar. He lost the title later that year to John “Bradshaw” Layfield but remained a popular main eventer until his untimely death. He’s widely regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time.
Here’s how other current and former WWE superstars and fans honored Guerrero today.
