Unlike most celebrities, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been notorious for keeping his personal life rather private. At the Hercules premiere on July 23, 2014 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, Johnson hit the red carpet with Lauren Hashian, his longtime girlfriend, who very rarely makes public appearances alongside the WWE Superstar-turned-actor.
Johnson and Hashian first met in 2006 while he was filming The Game Plan in Boston, Massachusetts. Johnson was married to Dany Garcia, with the two announcing a separation in June 2007 and getting divorced one year later. It has been rumored that Johnson’s relationship with Hashian led to the split, which led to him being depressed. In a June 2014 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson declined to go into detail about the breakup, but said that he was knocked on his ass after reflecting on his choices.”
“Once I manned up and became accountable for the mess I was in, that’s when it hit me,” Johnson said. “What kind of a dad does this make me? What kind of a man will I now become? Failing at marriage and as a husband was a heavy thing, and divorce had that special way of knocking me on my ass.”
Despite their divorce, the two retained an amicable relationship as Garcia remains on board as his manager and longtime business partner. Garcia’s husband, Dave Rienzi, a bodybuilding competitor, serves as Johnson’s conditioning coach.
September 16, 2015 – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is expecting his first child with longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian, according to Us Weekly.
A source close to the couple confirmed the news to the publication Wednesday, saying, “They are so excited!”
Johnson is already a father to a 14-year-old daughter Simone, with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
Johnson, who has been dating Hashian for approximately nine years — they reportedly met in 2006 while he was filming The Game Plan — mentioned her and Simone in an interview with Esquire in June, which is rare.
“I’ve lived with my longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, going on, like, eight, nine years now,” Johnson remarked when asked if there was something he wanted to get off his chest. “She’s a singer-songwriter. We spend a lot of time with my daughter in Florida, Simone, who’s 13. We do these stories and we talk so much about the business end, the success end, but then Lauren isn’t mentioned and my daughter isn’t mentioned. I always like making sure we find the balance and my home life is in there and Lauren Hashian is in there and my daughter is in there.”
He continued, “You gotta get the better half in there. With all the cool shit and success that I’ve been lucky enough to get? That doesn’t happen unless the home life is solid.”
