– Former WCW star Alex Wright was backstage at Wednesday’s WWE live event in Cologne, Germany.
Curt Hawkins posted a photo of himself backstage with “Das Wunderkind” (and Zack Ryder).
Wright wrestled professionally in Germany and Japan before signing with World Championship Wrestling in 1994 at the age of 18. He remained a prominent mid-card performer during his seven-year tenure with WCW, including reigns as a one-time Cruiserweight Champion, a one-time World Television Champion and a one-time World Tag Team Champion (with Disco Inferno). He also beat Triple H in the future legend’s first pay-per-view match at Starrcade 1994.
Since 2009, Wright has been running his own wrestling promotion and school in Germany, New European Championship Wrestling.
