Why Diamond Dallas Page Was Backstage At Monday Night Raw

Diamond Dallas Page was backstage at Raw last night in Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

While the WWE Hall of Famer did not appear on the show, according to PWInsider.com, he was there backstage to film interview content for multiple upcoming WWE projects, including a new DVD and Blu-ray on “Macho Man” Randy Savage called Randy Savage Unreleased: The Unseen Matches of the Macho Man. DDP feuded with Savage in WCW in 1997, which gave Page the credibility to eventually become WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

DDP was not around backstage over the course of the day since he arrived shortly before Raw went on the air on the USA Network.

According to a report last month by WrestlingDVDNetwork.com, the Savage DVD and Blu-ray is set for release on May 29 in the United States. Here is the synopsis:

The Macho Man has had legendary bouts with Hulk Hogan, Rick Rude, Ricky Steamboat, Jake Roberts, and many others. The WWE Universe may be familiar with many of them, but there were several excellent matches that have never made it to DVD. Now fans can own some of the Macho Man’s greatest matches that have never been released on WWE Home Video before.

Meanwhile, DDP was among those congratulating Jeff Jarrett on the news of him being the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.

The two have some history together as in WCW, both competitors beat each other for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (DDP did it once while Jarrett did it twice).
