Dean Ambrose Reveals If Sting Was Supposed To Team With Himself and Roman Reigns At SummerSlam

At SummerSlam from the Barclays Center, it will be “Family versus Family” when former Shield cohorts Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose take on Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.

Before the bout was originally announced, there were reports that a returning Sting would work the pay-per-view to join Reigns and Ambrose in a six-man tag team match, although it was a mystery who would side with The Wyatt Family.

Those plans were eventually scrapped, as it was believed his presence wasn’t necessary with such a top-heavy card.

During a recent interview with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and Between The Ropes, Ambrose set the record straight on whether Sting was slated to compete, and if he even knew about it.

“I didn’t hear that,” Ambrose said. He then ragged on Fritz for reading too much internet stories.

“Anytime you get to see Sting in a WWE, it’s a dream. Nobody ever thought he would be here, so to see him at WrestleMania (31) was awesome. I have a feeling, you know . . . Sting is always mysterious and he keeps it real like that, and I like that about Sting. I would hope we see Sting in a WWE ring again.”
