– Daniel Bryan returned to in-ring competition back in April and since then he’s been wrestling regularly on SmackDown LIVE.
His WWE contract status has been a hot topic all year, but Bryan has said in interviews that he would most likely sign a new deal with the company.
Dave Meltzer is reporting today in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bryan has signed a new contract with WWE. However, it wasn’t official as of Monday since WWE had yet to sign it. The deal is expected to be completed this week.
“Bryan just signed his new contract so they’ve agreed on terms. As of 9/3 it was not official since WWE hadn’t signed it, but that’s a formality and it should be official very soon if not this week,” Meltzer wrote.
“It’s been pretty much a given now for several weeks that he wasn’t going anywhere for a number of reasons. But it was not an easy decision and he was lucky that whatever his decision was going to be, there was no wrong decision.”
