Daniel Bryan said during an interview last week on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast that he’s leaning toward staying with the WWE.
Sam Roberts said that since Bryan is featured in the 2K Showcase mode in the WWE 2K19 video game, he might be staying with WWE beyond September 1 when his contract expires. Bryan said that he didn’t want to give too many details, but did give a probability of the chances of that happening.
“I think at this point it would be 90-plus percent,” he told Roberts. “It’s very likely I’ll re-sign with WWE.”
Bryan added that as of the show’s recording, which is August 6, he had not re-signed with WWE yet and that it might be a few weeks before negotiations are completed.
The WWE 2K19 2K Showcase mode chronicles Bryan’s “long and winding road to greatness in the WWE Universe.” While many speculated that this could be a sign that Bryan is re-signing with WWE, Dave Meltzer noted on the F4WOnline.com message board on Wednesday that he has not signed yet. The 2K Showcase is something that was decided several months ago.

Bryan also told Roberts that he’d like to work 50 to 100 matches per year, although he realizes that it might be more than that. He said that WWE is working with him on his schedule and that he has no interest in wrestling 200 times a year again.
“I don’t wanna do a full schedule and I think WWE has been very gracious in working with me to not do a complete schedule,” Bryan said.
