ESPN no longer allows embedding of their SportsCenter “Off The Top Rope” videos with Jonathan Coachman. This week’s opening segment featured Coach and Chris Jericho counting down the best moments from WWE Money In the Bank. You can watch that video at this link.
Jericho spoke to Coach for a regular interview at this link. Coach asked Jericho what it was like performing at WrestleMania 32 in front of the 100,000 fans at AT&T Stadium. Jericho said he wanted to be a part of the show as soon as he heard they were going to AT&T. Jericho said he took extra pride in having a match against AJ Styles and to see their storyline culminate at WrestleMania, it made him take more pride in the match. Jericho said AJ has been wrestling for more than 15 years and deserved to be in WWE but one of the reasons Jericho likes being in WWE these days is because he gets the chance to show fans the new talent that’s available. Jericho takes pride in being able to do that and doing it better than anyone else in the company.
Coach asked Jericho to name two stars he sees having a big future in the company. Jericho named all of his Money In the Bank competitors for this Sunday – Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose and Alberto Del Rio. Jericho said Owens is very special and different from everyone else. Jericho said Owens doesn’t look or act like a typical WWE Superstar but that’s what you need to make it to the top level. Jericho also talked about being excited to see guys like Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura come up from WWE NXT. Jericho also believes AJ will have a big role in the company. Jericho said he will be watching these guys for years to come as a fan, as his career winds down. Jericho believes WWE is in the best position they’ve been in as far as new talent goes. Jericho said there’s a great diverse selection of men and women that will keep the company the best in the world for many years to come.
