Tetsuya Naito beat Chris Jericho at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 at the Tokyo Dome on Friday to become IWGP Intercontinental C
With the win, Naito has the second-most IWGP Intercontinental Championship reigns in NJPW history, behind Shinsuke Nakamura’s five.
The match was brutal as Jericho sustained a few welts due to cane shots from Naito. Jericho showed off the welts on Instagram.
Jericho also lost a patch of his hair during the match. It apparently happened when Jericho took a piledriver outside of the ring because his hair got caught on the ramp when he turned to take the move.
Here are more photos of Jericho from the show.
This was a rematch of their bout at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall last June, which saw Jericho beat Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
