Carmella is an American professional wrestler, former cheerleader for the New England Patriots, former Laker Girl and also a mother.

The WWE Superstar, whose full real name is Leah Marie Vandale, and her husband, color commentator Corey Graves (real Matt Polinksy), welcomed their first baby on November 8, 2023.

Dimitri Paul Polinsky was born weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches, they announced on Instagram on November 9, 2023.

Carmella noted in the joint post: “…well worth the 60 hour labor (more on that another day).”

On November 6, 2024, Carmella posted this photo on Instagram Stories and wrote, “one year ago, today… was about to head to the hospital….”

She wrote, “35 weeks down… just about 35 days to go. I cannot believe how fast this time has gone by. Some days it feels like I’ve been pregnant forever and other days I can’t believe how soon I get to meet my son. I’ve learned so much about myself, my body and what I’m truly capable of throughout this pregnancy. For my mamas out there, what’s something you learned about yourself during your pregnancy? For me, it’s the fact that I’ve learned how ok I am with the unknown. I’m used to being in control of all aspects of my life, but pregnancy and my journey to motherhood has been completely out of my control and I’m surprisingly ok with that.”

Carmella, whose real name is Leah Van Dale, announced her pregnancy on May 1, 2023 on Good Morning America, sharing that she found out the news in March.

“It’s just all been such a whirlwind,” Carmella said. “I think because of my past, it was hard to get excited off the bat about this one, but I was cautiously optimistic. I try to have a good mindset, a positive mindset this time around, and it’s working. So I’m very happy about that.”

Carmella experienced two miscarriages in 2022, in September and October. Nevertheless, she said this pregnancy has “been really good” so far and is due in November. She also discussed Graves’ excitement at welcoming their new addition to the family, saying he did not expect the news at all.

“He was completely shocked and surprised,” Carmella said. “He was so excited, and from the get-go when I told him, we both just really tried to have such a positive outlook on it.”

Carmella took a break from wrestling after her miscarriages to focus on healing, which gave her a chance to spend quality time with her family.

“I think I’ve just focused so much on my career in the last 10 years that it made me forget the importance of life, and made me forget what truly matters,” Carmella said. “And at the end of the day, that’s family … that time afforded me more quality time with my family, with my stepchildren. I got the opportunity to get to know them on a level that I never knew them before.”

Carmella and Graves revealed on May 31, 2023 on the Tamron Hall Show that they are expecting a baby boy.

At 19 weeks pregnant, Carmella shows off her baby bump. She posted this photo on Instagram Stories on June 16, 2023 and wrote, “It’s a comfy cozy kind of day today. 19 weeks today.”

On August 7, 2023, Carmella revealed her body’s transformation after being pregnant for 26 weeks.

“I’m in awe of the female body and what it’s capable of,” Carmella wrote on Instagram. “It’s such a bizarre feeling seeing and feeling your body change so drastically, but I’m embracing all of these amazing changes. I’ve put my body through so much over the years; 13 years of competitive dance, cheering in the NFL, dancing in the NBA then 10 years of traveling and beating my body up with WWE. Every day I wake up with such gratitude that my body is capable of growing my baby boy and keeping him healthy and safe. We only get one body, it’s so important to take care of it from the inside out.”
