After suffering a shattered right elbow in November and undergoing surgery, Braun Strowman is scheduled to wrestle for the first time since his injury at the Royal Rumble on January 27, challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Now it looks like this match is not going down.
John Pollock of POST Wrestling reported earlier today that there is an angle scheduled for Raw tonight that will affect one of the main matches at the Royal Rumble. According to a report by Rajah.com, WWE plans on shooting an angle that would result in Strowman being removed from the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
According to the first draft script for Raw, Strowman is scripted to flip over Vince McMahon’s limousine. This would prompt Vince to remove Strowman from the Universal Championship Match at the Royal Rumble.
Strowman is still recovering from elbow surgery, which would explain why he’s being pulled from the match. Rajah.com did not provide further information on what the new match would be.
