“Braden Walker, and I’m going to knock your brains out.”
A confident Braden Walker had that very exchange with Armando Estrada during his ECW debut 10 years ago today. And just as he prophetically forecasted, the newcomer defeated Estrada after connecting with a top rope flying crossbody.
As a member of ECW General Manager Theodore Long’s New Superstar Initiative, the future was looking bright for Walker. The big Kentuckian followed up on his debut victory with a win over James Curtis. But with two wins in his back pocket, WWE inexplicably released Walker from his contract on August 7, 2008.
Ten years later, Walker’s knock-knock joke is still referenced by fans as one of the oddest comments ever uttered on WWE television. You can watch the entirety of Walker’s run in the video below.
