– Matt Hardy defeated Ethan Carter III to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion at tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Bethlehem, PA. This was the Career vs. Title match that TNA had been hyping this week. It should air on January 26th.

Hardy turned heel and is now with Tyrus while EC3 is a babyface. A double turn was first indicated at Thursday’s One Night Only tapings during a Hardy vs. EC3 match when EC3 was playing the babyface role at some times.

Hardy is now a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
