– We’ve noted how WWE Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl, now using the name Bronson Mathews in WWE NXT, picked up a bunch of developmental and main roster heat after referring to the Social Outcasts stable as “jobbers” on Twitter this past week. The feeling was that Bredl disrespected the Social Outcasts when he didn’t have the right to, because he came into the company via Tough Enough and with a sweet $250,000 contract.
The heat on Bredl right now is said to be tremendous. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Live that Bredl has a lot more heat than people think. There’s already resentment that he is making more money than everyone else in developmental and the Twitter incident did not help.
We also noted how things could get interesting for Bredl on Sunday as the NXT roster is set to be backstage for the Royal Rumble in Orlando. For what it’s worth, there are people in the company who want Bredl to be put into the Rumble for what could be a “hazing” of sorts. As of Thursday, there was still talk of having Bredl be in the 30-man main event. A similar situation happened with WWE Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder at the 2005 Rumble. Puder had embarrassed Kurt Angle a few months earlier during a WWE TV taping and this led to Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly “punishing” him in the Rumble, which was Puder’s last WWE TV appearance before being released later that year.
