Backstage Notes on Why WWE Has The New Day Inducting The Fabulous Freebirds Into the Hall of Fame

– Regarding why The New Day are inducting The Fabulous Freebirds into the WWE Hall of Fame next month, Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live today that Freebird Michael “PS” Hayes is reportedly a big fan of the WWE Tag Team Champions.

It was also indicated that WWE’s big babyface push for The New Day has something to do with them handling the induction. We’ve noted how WWE booked The League of Nations vs. The New Day with the idea that The New Day will come out of WrestleMania 32 as full-fledged babyfaces.

There’s still no official word on if WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Von Erich will have a role in the induction, as has been indicated before, but it looks like he won’t. Alvarez noted that WWE could not lock Von Erich in for that Saturday night but The Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentions Von Erich is expected to attend. It’s still believed that Buddy Roberts Jr. and Ray Gordy (former WWE star Jesse) will be there to accept the inductions for their late fathers.
